SPANNER LAMP.

Was commissioned to make a floor standing lamp by my Friend Steph at Barber Macabre, it has taken ages to get the lamp shade right but i am now super happy with the finished result.

The base is an old gas can cut in half[the other half from the nose cone of my rocket ship] filled with a dirty old oil pump i found in the high street, this is heavy enough to keep it upright. The arm is made from many large old spanners with cone nuts welded on for a cable guide.
The lamp shade is made from a 1930s Joe Lucas car headlamp but was missing the front trim and glass so using scrap brass i sculpted a new one[not easy] I think it works well and even has the new trade mark copper hand stamped makers badge on it. Delicious.

More photos of this and a second version coming next year that will be for sale.
